23 July, 2024
It’s an exciting time for Ingrid Capacity. In partnership with BW ESS, we are currently undertaking a historic expansion of flexible solutions with our large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems at 14 locations across the Swedish grid, all planned to be fully operational during 2024.

Eskilstuna Municipality:
“This is a very positive project for Eskilstuna. Not only does it contribute to more stability and better conditions for households and businesses by supplying affordable electricity, but it is also very welcome as part of Eskilstuna’s work to reach climate goals,” says Jimmy Jansson, Mayor of Eskilstuna.
Gävle Municipality:
“It’s incredibly exciting that Gävle is part of this innovative development, benefiting local citizens and contributing to the regional and national grid. Hopefully, this will also attract new industries to establish locally, which is a win for both the business community and the job market,” says Kristofer Dahlgren, Municipal Councillor responsible for energy issues.
Katrineholm Municipality:
“Katrineholm Municipality view this type of investment positively as it helps secure the electricity supply in Katrineholm and across Sweden. Energy storage facilities like this benefit both grid operators and consumers, including businesses and individuals, by creating stability in electricity supply. In the green transition, it’s crucial to increase electricity production, transmission capacity, and storage opportunities in line with rising demand,” says Johan Söderberg, Mayor of Katrineholm Municipality.
We are delighted that our expansion of flexible solutions and energy storage is being well-received by municipalities. By owning, operating, maintaining, and optimizing our storage systems, we aim to drive the electrification of societies while also supporting local communities.Beyond Ingrid Capacity's large expansion across 14 different locations in Sweden, we are also about to commence the construction of another 200 MW after the summer. We also have an ambitious European pipeline exceeding 7 MW, further underscoring our commitment to leading the energy transition with the means of flexible solutions.
